We have all been through a lot over the last year-and-a-half. The pandemic changed the way that we live and work in the city and region. For many Seattleites, it meant that daily commutes to downtown disappeared; for others, in-person work continued on the front-line. Your transportation agencies have kept working to keep you safe and to deliver the transformative construction projects that continue to change how we all get around. Welcome back to Downtown Seattle and the region. As traffic increases we still need your help reducing the number of drive-alone trips coming into and out of Downtown Seattle.

Remember the Viaduct? It closed permanently on January 11, 2019 initiating a full three-week closure of SR 99 downtown before the new SR 99 tunnel opened. At that time, approximately 250,000 people commuted to and from downtown each day.
